How We Began

Network Security

One day while reading about an advertised position at a well known company I saw an ad for a Network Security Engineer.  Knowing I had the education and experience for the job, I wanted to show the company that I also had the skills and was the best candidate for the position.  So I contacted a technical staff member of the company in order to get permission to run several penetration tests on the company's website.  After testing, I revealed to them why they would need me to secure their company.  I emailed the contact for the job position and revealed all of the private information that was exposed.  I then showed him pictures of all the employees who worked for that company, the employees user ID number for the website, several vulnerabilities, and lastly, I showed the contact person HIS own picture, home phone number, and home address.  The company was so shocked by the amount of information made available to the public, they completely shut down their whole website for a given amount of time.  Rather than accepting the job for the company, I knew from that experience that I was destined to create he Sheppard Way business and help in securing a company's important data and information.

True People Search

Years ago I wanted to get back in touch with some of my old classmates and friends I lost contact with.  I used some of the well known automated search services in the attempts to find them.  The search engine let me do the searches and showed their names.  I wasn't sure of the last places they lived but I took my best guess and paid the company to release the information.  After I paid I realized it wasn't the right person I was looking for but I had already spent my money.  This happened continuously so instead, I paid for the unlimited searching.  I searched for the people I was looking for and when I got their information, it was completely outdated.  Again, I was out of money.  I began to conduct my own searches, learning where to look, becoming a member of certain databases, to eventually I was able to find every single one of my old friends.  Realizing I had the skills needed to find people within the United States as well as knowing the frustration of automated search engines, I incorporated the service into he Sheppard Way and at an affordable price for everyone.
